:: About KDSS Organization ::

KDSS (Khandwa Diocesan Social Services) is the social work unit of the diocese of Khandwa which was erected on February 3rd, 1977. It comprises of the 4 civil districts of Barwani, Burhanpur, Khandwa and Khargone also called East and West Nimar districts separated from Indore diocese.

Operating at grass root level KDSS has taken its mandate from the vision of Khandwa Diocese and envision to fulfill the commitment to the liberation of underpriveledged. It is registered under the MP Societies Registration Act with the Ministry of Home Affairs of Government of India under Foreign Contribution Regulation Act. Donation to KDSS are exempted from Income Tax under 12A.

KDSS thrives to address the key issues of corruption, lack of education, drought, discrimination against women, livelihood, lack of people's organication, lack of awareness, lack of motivation, lack of leadership, illiteracy, povery, unemployment, migration, non-functioning of the Government institution, lack of transportation and communication, lack of health facilities, poor quality education.

To empower people, with focus on the weaker sections of the society, through strengthening Community Based Organizations and improving Governance in collaboration with the like minded agencies.

  • Improving livelihood of the people through better natural resource management.
  • Promoting Gender Equality through leadership development.
  • Promoting and supporting people's movements for a corruption free society through Right Based Approach (RBA).
  • Promoting quality education to the common people through improvement in educational system.
  • Enhancing/improving health care system with special focus on women and children.

  • Capacity building of key staff of KDSS.
  • Capacity building of Local Coordinators, Animators, Field Workers and leaders of SHGs &
  • Federations.
  • Advocacy for awareness on basic human rights: to food, to cloth, to shelter, to health and to education.
  • Networking with Governments and NGOs.
  • Covering 100% beneficiaries in the target area through formation of Community Based Organization.
